Our mission is to enable every Aussie kid to access high-quality education and the tutoring that helps them fulfil their potential - regardless of where they live, what school they attend or what their family can afford.
Why we built it
Access to tutoring shouldn't depend on your postcode.
Australian families spend over a billion dollars a year on private tutoring - but that support is only available to families who can afford it. Meanwhile, kids in rural areas, kids whose families are stretched on the basics, and kids whose parents can't sit with them at the kitchen table go without - often kids who would benefit from tutoring the most.
Generic AI tools don't fill that gap. They hand over answers, not understanding. They don't know your child's syllabus, and they don't do what a real tutor does - teach.
We built PocketTutor because we think every Australian kid deserves a tutor that actually teaches their syllabus, in their state, at their year level - regardless of what their family can afford.

PocketTutor is built in Brisbane by a small team passionate about improving Australian education and enabling every child to achieve their potential.
Being a small team means that we hear directly from the families using PocketTutor and make decisions based on what helps them the most. And we're parents too - we sit at the kitchen table with our own kids, help them through topics we haven't thought about in 20 years, and see the gap between what most tools can do and what a kid needs. PocketTutor is what we wished we had, and it's why we keep building.
